We have some exciting news - Viadeo is now active in Russia.
Viadeo is proud to announce a joint venture with Sanoma Independent Media, Russia’s leading publishing house. The partnership will develop and strengthen Viadeo’s presence in Russia and will allow Russian professionals to become part of one of the world’s largest professional social networks.
Another goal of the partnership will be to develop business services for the Russian market, supported by Viadeo’s social networking expertise and the local strength of Sanoma Independent Media’s rb.ru, one of Russia’s most popular business websites with an influential professional community.
This is a very exciting venture for Viadeo, as the Russian online market is rapidly expanding. According to PwC’s Entertainment and Media Outlook 2011-2015, the Russian media market is one of the fastest growing in the world. The study shows that “In 2010, the Russian media market grew by 13%…while the global media market increased by only 4.6%.
Russia’s 51 million Internet users make it the biggest online market in Europe. Social media usage, in particular, is rapidly increasing in Russia. After its January 2010 launch in Russia, Facebook usage grew by 316%. To add to this, a recent Comscore study shows that Russia has the highest number of unique visitors online.
Viadeo will soon be opening a new Russian office, aiming to take full advantage of the steadily growing Russian online market. Additionally, the Viadeo platform, including the new local business services, will soon be available in Russian (Cyrillic).
