Every day, we share some of the most interesting blog posts we’ve read on our Twitter channel (@Viadeo). Our weekly aggregator shares 5 of our favourite posts we’ve read during the week. This week, we’ve collected 5 more great posts, all sharing interesting insights and inspiring ideas. What do you think of this week’s collection?
1. Will 2012 be the Year you Start a New Business? By Carol Tice from Entrepreneur
This was our first of our favourite posts from the last week. Putting a positive spin on the economic struggles of the last few years, Carol Tice explores why this is a good time to launch your own start-up (think less competition and cheaper advertising, for example). If you have been thinking about taking your great idea to the next level, why not make this year the year you do it?

2. Why CSR’s Future Matters to Your Company by Susan McPherson from the Harvard Business Review Blogs
The Harvard Business Review Blog yet again provided us with a great post, one of our favourites from the week. This particular post focuses on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In a very well-written and thought-provoking post, Susan McPherson explains why in 2012 CSR will become not only a focal point but a requirement for businesses of all sizes.
3. 4 Ways Marketers Can Drive Revenue–And Prove It by Phil Fernandez from Fast Company
We recommend this detailed, straight to the point post from Fast Company. It explores how marketers could have more of a direct impact on a company’s direct revenue trajectory. We especially enjoyed Phil Fernandez’s interpretation of the “revenue cycle” which begins with the first interaction between a potential buyer and your business, and ultimately ending with a returning, loyal customer.
4. Ten Social Media Strategies to Define a Successful 2012 by Brian Solis from Brian Solis’ Blog
We’ve read what seems like hundreds of posts on how to improve in various businesses areas over the last few weeks. We particularly enjoyed this post by Brian Solis, which looks at ten different approaches to a better social media strategy. He identifies the very first step to do doing so as understanding how technology influences customer behaviour and why. A must-read!
5. A Visual Explanation of Crowdsourcing [Infographic] from Visual.ly
Crowdsourcing and collaboration are increasingly becoming popular ways of conducting business and marketing. But what exactly is it, how is it used and what are the benefits? We loved this infographic from Visually, one of the best explanations we’ve seen.
