Have you ever thought about the amount of light above the Eiffel Tower in the Disney’s Pixar movie Cars 2? Imagine how much thought and inspiration goes into something as subtle yet vital as the lighting in an animated film. This post is about unexpected inspiration combined with innovation, Paris – California style: a story that starts with Paris, continues with light and ends with Haute Couture. Now, I don’t think that this is “the most burning question of the […]

Digital Identity & Anonymity
We fear the confusion between public and private spheres, which is understandable. Nevertheless, we tend to react inappropriately to certain analogies: be it one’s presence on search engines or the publication of private content, this is a situation of crisis, of deep change concerning online confidentiality…

Social Networks’ Transformation of Modern Politics
Social media is forever re-inventing itself, altering how we interact, communicate and…vote?
We used to rely almost exclusively on newspaper, television and radio for political information. Today, the Internet is a core source of information (A study in the US showed that over half of the population used the Internet to follow the 2008 presidential election). In addition, political blogs have sprung up all over the world and often top lists of the most powerful blogs in the world. Now, we can research independent blogs, read multiple articles, watch videos and discuss in forums before we form our own opinions instead of relying on traditional media.
Bring on the APIs!
300 people gathered last night at Mighty, downtown San Francisco, for SF New Tech’s Bring on the APIs.
